The Silk Press is the non chemical pressing of natural hair.
The first step is to begin by removing residue and product buildup from the hair and scalp using a deep cleansing shampoo for the 1st shampoo. Afterwards, shampoo a 2nd time with a moisturing shampoo.
Next, apply a moisturizing conditioner and comb thru and place a plastic cap over the hair and sit under a hooded dryer for at least 35 minutes or hair steamer for at least 25 minutes. Rinse well .
After rinsing the conditioner, apply a leave in conditioner such as HCO by Design Essentials to the hair and comb thru with a large tooth comb. Next your hair is sectioned into 4 parts and blow dried. (Notice the optimum shine of your hair after the blow dry)
Please note: The leave in conditioner (HCO) protects your hair from the heat from the blow dryer and flat-iron.
After your hair is blow dried it is flat ironed using a FHI brand ceramic flat-iron and styled as desired.
